Weekly Chapel

Chapel is a major highlight of our week! Both the Pre-Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten classes participate in weekly chapel with Pastor Jud. A typical chapel session looks like this:

• Pastor reviews each child's name, with the goal to recognize all students by name by the end of the year.
• Lighting candles -- children take turns lighting the candles weekly. Pastor Jud assists as needed. The remaining children sing a song during this time.
• Lesson -- Pastor Jud typically gives a lesson about one of the stained glass windows and the Bible stories they depict.
• Singing -- Pastor Jud leads us in another song.
• Prayer -- Pastor Jud leads us in a repeat-after-me prayer.
• Putting out the candles -- children take turns putting out the candles weekly. Pastor Jud assists as needed. The remaining children sing a song during this time.
